MOSS Enterprise vs. Standard
In a previous post, "Where are my KPI Lists?", I shared my issue of missing KPI lists, Reporting Center, and Excel Services features. Since then, I've hand new insights that I thought I'd share here...

What I didn't realize when I installed MOSS previously was the fact that there are actually two (2) licensing options... Enterprise and Standard. When you install the application, the installation wizard asks for a software key, and the key determines which version is activated. If you enter a key which is associated with the Standard license, then a smaller set of features is installed, but if you enter a big daddy key, then you get everything... including KPI lists, a Reporting Center site template, and Excel Services.

I never did resolve my issue with absolute certainty (there is a way to upgrade from MOSS2007 Standard to MOSS2007 Enterprise via Central Administration... which I didn't do), but I have since installed MOSS again with the RTM code, and I made sure to enter the Enterprise software key. Voila... there are my KPI lists!

Hope this helps in your world.
